Anna Elizabeth Robinson (nee Proctor)

Gram Rob (as we called her) was a very stout woman. Living on a farm - The Robinson Homestead - the family fared quite well, having their own milk, cream, butter, eggs, chickens, so Gram cooked very rich food.
As long as she lived, she wore full length skirts or dresses, so I never remember seeing her legs! And most always, she wore a long white apron. I believe I was told that she came to Marlborough to teach School (more about that as I find out!) before she married Gramp Rob. She wore her hair pulled straight back with a pug (bun) at the top of her head. She had to be an even-tempered woman, to put up with Gramp's antics (tall tales)!
In spite of my being her namesake, I never was very close to her, perhaps because we lived further away, and I couldn't walk up there to visit, as I could to Gram Wiswall's house. We did visit quite often Dad and Mother especially on Sundays. I do remember playing anagrams with Gram - (a game that Scrabble evolved from). Gram and Gramp Rob played dominos at their kitchen table often. In fact Lonnie took pictures of them at this. I sent these to Jan, Chuck's daughter, some years ago.
Gram died in her tiny bedroom at the farm on (journal entry ends abruptly - rl)
