[the following short biogarphy was written by Anna Elizabeth Lynch (Robinson)]
Lawrence Alfred Robinson (called Lonnie). Born in Marlborough (Aug 5, 1915) in house (burned) above the farm, in which eventually became Uncle Guy's house. Lonnie, Margaret and Chuck were all born here. Fire burned the home and it was sold to Guy (Dad's brother) and Marion. Dad bought the Adam's house on Terrace St. and Frank and I were born there.
Lonnie was the ingenious one in the family. He worked at Minnewawa Label factory starting at a young age, and learned the card-cutting aspect of that industry. In 1936 (I believe) he went to Germany to study textiles and label making. Mr. Blombach, his employer, sent him there. He stayed for a year and lived with friends of the Blombachs. He studied German extensively before he left. He also went to Tennessee for a year to work and learn in a factory there.
Before and after these travels, he did a lot of work in photography (developing his own pictures, making an enlarger as well). He made hundreds of jig-saw puzzles which were circulated around Marlborough for years (I have the only two that are left).
He entered the army in 19xx and left from Ft. Devens in September 1942 to go overseas during WWII. The plane crashed in Presque Isle, Maine and all aboard were killed.
