Edward, son of Bernard Lynch and Ellen Brady, was born in Longford, Ireland about 1821 and emmigrated to America with his family aboard the ship Tarolinta which departed Liverpool, England and arrived in New York City on June 12, 1841. The ship's passenger list shows Edwards age as 20.
Edward married Mary Brady, in Boston, on July 18, 1852 and the 1860 U. S. Census shows Edward and Mary living in East Boston with their four children - Edward 7, Abby M. 6, Bernard 4 and Ellen 1.
